David Campbell Ross, 84, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Latie L. Cooper Ross, died Sat., July 12, 2014, at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg. Born Jan 10, 1930, in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late Charles Johnston and Mary Helen (Gillespie) Ross. Dr. Ross received his BA degree from Asbury College, his Master of Theology from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary and his Doctorate of Divinity from Kentucky Wesleyan College. He served as a United Methodist Minister for some forty years and was secretary for the Methodist Conference for eight years. Dr. Ross was also instrumental in development of the Aldersgate Camp in Ravenna, KY. Other survivors include: two sons, David Lawrence "Larry" (Sue) Ross of Ocala, FL, and Mark Stephen (Missy) Ross of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren, Amanda Ross, Gloria Ross, James Black, John Black, Timothy Black, and John Bottom; five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a Brother, Jack Ross. Visitation will be 9:30 AM Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church, with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Reverends Garland Hawkins and Rhonda Peters will officiate. Ransdell Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. The family request memorial donations be sent to Harrodsburg United Methodist Church New Bldg. Fund, 102 South Chiles Street, Harrodsburg, KY 40330 or to the Aldersgate Camp, 125 Aldersgate Camp Road, Revenna, KY 40472.
