Bobby Gene Springate, 87, formerly of Harrodsburg, husband of Mary Ann Moore Springate, died Monday, August 4, 2014, in Lexington. Born June 3, 1927, in Washington County, KY, he was the son of the late Clinton and Rebecca Gillis Springate.
He was a retired Chemical Engineer for DuPont Company and a member of N.E. Christian Church.
Other survivors include: Three daughters: Donna (David) Jenny of South Port, NC, Marsha Springate of Lexington, KY and Terri (Robert) Brewster of Lexington, KY. One son: Bobby (Elizabeth) Springate of Harrodsburg. One sister: Bonnie Arkley of Louisville, KY and two brothers: Clinton Ray Springate of Louisville, KY and Bruce Springate of Harrodsburg, KY. Grandchildren: Tara Lannou, Chad Jenny and Ryan Garrett. Great Grandchildren: Grayson Lannou, Declan Lannou and Cameron Garrett. Bobby was preceded in death by his Brother, J.W. Springate.
Pallbearers will be: Phil Yates, J.D. Jones, Kent Stevens, Tim Pierce, Wayne Quiggins.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11 until time of service at 1pm, at Harrodsburg Christian Church by Phil Williams, Steve Smith and Kent Stevens.
