Irma Jean Ison, 93, widow of James "Jim Buck" Ison, died Wednesday at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. Born April 17,1921, in Santa Ana, CA, she was the daughter of the late Fred Thomas and Olga (Friend) Martin. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and Order of eastern Star. She was a Cub Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother. She also directed the Mercer County Fair Pageants for some 40 years. Irma is survived by: a daughter: Ella Jean (Gary) Williamson of Savannah, GA and a son: James Thomas "Tommy" (Lou) Ison of Harrodsburg, brother: Phillip L. Martin of Orange, CA, Four Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Brother, Vincent Martin and Sister, Vivian Keightley. Visitation will be ; 5-8 pm Friday, Oct 3 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg and Saturday from 9 AM until service at Harrodsburg Christian Church, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers will be: Jason Brinegar, Art Freeman, Mike Matherly, Terry Sutherland, Craig Martin and Kerry Anness. The Good Will Sunday School Class members from the Harrodsburg Christian Church are to serve as Honorary Pall Bearers. Funeral service will be Saturday Oct 4; 10:00 am at Harrodsburg Christian Church by Dr. Mego Haralu. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
