Obituary of Robert Elmore Dean

Robert Elmore Dean Robert Elmore Dean, 87, of California, died Wed., Oct. 15, 2014. Born Sept. 26, 1927 in Mercer County, he was son of the late Elmore and Gladys Crossfield Dean. Robert was a retired Gunner's Mate Gun Chief with the U. S. Navy for 20 years and a Naval Reservist for 44 years. He was a life member of the American Legion Post # 496 of Long Beach, CA. He is survived by his wife: Esther Humphrey Dean, a daughter: Robin Baca Gillenwaters of CA, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, five sisters: Joyce Sturgeon of Louisville, Janice Phillips of Harrodsburg, Rita Jo Cerriato of FL. Bruce Lee Dunn of Lexington and Maxine Taylor of Harrodsburg. He is predeceased by a son, Michael Dean, and nine siblings, Imogene Crawford, Doris Reece, Ina Cornish, Arlene Walkup, Donnis Dean, Garnett E. Dean, Harold Dean, Lois F. Dean and Oscar Dean.
