Howard Joe "Joe the Bug Man" Blankenship, 75, Harrodsburg, KY, widower of Joan Wilson Blankenship, died Thursday at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born October 26, 1939, in Scottsville, KY, to the late Aubrey and Lunie Marie (Jones) Blankenship. He was the Owner and Operator of Blankenship Pest Control. Joe was a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church, Mercer Masonic Lodge # 777 F&AM, past Patron of Order of the Eastern Star, and member of the Optimist Club and a Sea Cadet Leader. Joe is survived by: a daughter: Melanie (Roger) Mork of Cheyenne, WY and a son: Jeff (Debbie) Blankenship of Harrodsburg, KY, three sisters: Carolyn (Bruce Hamon) Blankenship, Patsy (Gary) Bailey and Brenda (Bill) Collins all of Harrodsburg, KY and one brother: Murrell Blankenship of Lexington, KY, two Grandchildren; Jae Blankenship and, Alex Mork. He was preceded in death by a Sister: Betty Lyles and a Brother: Skiles "Sonny" Blankenship. Visitation will be Monday from 5 - 8 PM at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday January 6 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. The family request memorial donations be sent to Harrodsburg United Methodist Church, Audio and Video Program, 102 South Chiles Street, Harrodsburg, KY 40330
