Rita Carol Compton, 53, Harrodsburg, KY, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. Born January 31, 1962, in Mercer Co., she was the daughter of Jean (Tackett) Compton, Harrodsburg, and the late Jerry Compton. She had been a CNA at Harrodsburg Health Care Center, and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors other than her mother include: one sister, Cathy (Ernest) Lear of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Ronnie (Deana) Compton, Richard (Angie) Compton, and Rodney (Deanna) Compton, all of Harrodsburg; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Tina Compton, and a great niece, Bridget Key. Funeral services 7:30 PM Thur., Nov. 5, 2015, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Josh Hardesty. Burial will be 11 AM Friday, November 6, 2015 with committal services at the Spring Hill Cemetery Pavilion, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 5 PM until hour of service on Thur. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are Isaac, Trey, and Lyndon Compton, Justin Dunn, Jason Key, Landon Miller, and Ryan Hitchner. Honorary bearers will be cousins, nieces, and nephews. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.ransdellfuneralchapel.com. Memorials are suggested to the family to offset expenses.
